Background
During the 2021 Intelligent Pigging (IP)
inspection, two severe metal-loss
anomalies were detected on the 20" export
crude riser at BK-C Platform
These defects posed significant risks of leakage, environmental exposure and unplanned shutdown. The riser required urgent structural restoration before the 2022 Oilfield Outbreak shutdown.
Based on the ILl results and the riser's observable condition, Hibiscus Oil and Gas Malaysia Limited (HOGML) initiated a dedicated riser repair campaign for the August 2022 shutdown window.

ECMS proposed a complete Sectional
Riser Replacement, delivering:
• Defect verification and HPWJ cleaning
• Cutting and removal of the damaged riser section
• Fabrication and installation of a new riser spool
• Offshore welding, alignment and fit-up
• Full NDT, pressure testing and documentation
• DOSH verification and repair approval
• Defect verification and HPWJ cleaning
